Care and maintenance
Watch water-resistance
Your LAPS has a resistance of 3 ATM which is equivalent to a pressure of 3 bars. This indicates that it is resistant to splashes from hand washing or rain, but that it cannot be immersed in water or kept in the shower.
Replacing the battery
Depending on the model, LAPS watches are equipped with a Swiss or Japanese Quartz movement that requires a battery to operate. This battery has a life of up to 24 months. To replace it, we advise you to make an appointment at our workshop or at a professional who will have the appropriate tools to guarantee the integrity of your watch.
We remind you that battery replacement is free of charge at the LAPS workshop by simply making an appointment.
Changing the strap
Perlon strap: Simply slide the rounded end of the strapup and down between the case and the spring bars.
Leather strap: you just have to insert the part of the spring bar, opposite to the pin, in the hole of the horn. Activate the pin then insert the other end of the spring bar in the hole of the remaining horn.
Wristband maintenance
Perlon strap: It is obtained by braiding nylon-like threads. It is therefore very resistant with a lifespan of several decades. If it gets dirty or deformed, do not hesitate to clean it with soapy water to recover its original aspect.
Leather strap: They are produced from vegetable tanned leather. This process, more respectful for the environment, does not waterproof the leather and lets the material express itself. It is strongly advised to avoid any contact with water, cosmetics or any greasy substance so as not to alter the appearance of your bracelet. Over time, your watchstrap will obtain a beautiful patina due to its use.
The spring bars
On all watches it sometimes happens that a spring bar escapes, fortunately it is easily put back in place. If this happens to you, you can have it replaced at any watchmaker. Otherwise, you can get it directly in the care category on our website.
