Watch edited from the original work of Mateo Andrea "La Mano de D10S" (2022)
Merging pencil drawing and watercolor painting, Mateo creates hybrid works imbued with symbols and his own story. Born in Buenos Aires, he tells here about his passion and the idolatry of Argentinians for the legend: Diego Maradona.
Being a dual figure, the athlete is depicted during the 1986 World Cup quarter-finals where he shines by scoring two iconic goals: the controversial “Mano de D10S” (Hand of God) and the majestic "goal of the century". The n°10 brings to Argentina not only victory, but also a revenge against England 4 years after the Falklands War.
Elevated to the rank of national icon, "El Pibe de Oro" characterizes the omnipresence of football in Argentine society, whose representations go beyond sport.
